1960 – 1995 (ARD); since 2001 (WDR). Annual children's program. For 35 years, ARD broadcast several hours of programs for children on Christmas Eve every year to pass the time until the presents were given and to make it easier for parents to prepare. Among the programs were always classics of children's television; popular characters from the ARD children's programs such as Kater Mikesch, the rabbit Caesar or Hein Blöd formed a framework story. After the last ARD program in 1995, the third program of NDR 1996 showed a single new edition, after which the proven title was only revived in 2001. Since then, WDR television has been waiting for the Christ Child every year. (from the television dictionary by Michael Reufsteck and Stefan Niggemeier) |
