This video was taped on the Thanksgiving holiday in the back yard of Bill Zorn of The Kingston Trio. It was created to be a pre-taped message from The K3's late founder, Bob Shane, and shown to the live audience at The Kingston Trio Holiday Cheers concert which was taped as a public television annual special at the Historic Will Rogers Auditorium in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Mr. Shane was unable to attend the concert, so it was arranged to do a pre-taping holiday message to Trio fans around the world. It turned out to be Mr. Shane's last time in front of a camera.
The Trio perform rare and traditional holiday songs from their classic early 60's album, "Last Month of the Year" as well as from their more recent holiday-themed CD, "Glad Tidings." There is an extended DVD version and CD soundtrack album available from MVD Distributors on all major streaming platforms. The concert and special was Executive Produced by Richard Risk, directed and co-produced by Chip Miller, and Line Produced |
