A television showing of The Promise with narration by Bing Crosby. In the program, Father Peyton’s Family Theater Group reenacts events leading to the birth of Christ. // This film recounts the story of the Nativity as seen by Simeon, an old man who has been told by God about the coming of the Messiah. This just and devout believer is doubted by his friends and family, but he holds steadfast to the promise that he will see the Christ Child. The story continues with Mary and Joseph making their way to Bethlehem, the birth of Jesus, the arrival of the Magi, and then on to the temple for the presentation before Simeon.
