The bear from the woods narrowly misses being run down on a road and is found by the Hennerson family who take him home, where the bear runs amok after the family leaves to do some Christmas shopping.
A soldier trained from birth is deemed obsolete and dumped on a waste planet where he is reluctantly taken in by a community of defenseless, stranded wayfarers.
