| It is Christmas. Hectic hustle and bustle in Berlin's shopping streets. Charlotte Becker, a tough TV presenter, comes up against the salesman Fritz Mauser who gives the word "loser" a new dimension. The two have nothing, absolutely nothing, in common.
Mauser loves Christmas more than anything else. Charlotte loathes it and will give anything to be on the Maledives for the 24th. Unfavourable circumstances, though, dash her plans to escape the cult of Christmas as in previous years and they ensure that the paths of the dissimilar duo cross.
