Christmas 1973 episode with guest William Conrad. Opening song "Jingle Bells." Skits: Indian and bear searching for snow, hobo looking for dinner. Last half of show has Christmas songs and Sonny's Pizza skit.
The Christmas show opens with Cher singing White Christmas and segueing into We Need a Little Christmas. After introducing the show, she puts on a beard to play Santa to daughter Chastity (now Chaz Bono). Then the Hudson Brothers sing Here Comes Santa Claus to introduce a comedy skit of a court case involving the characters from 'Twas The Night Before Christmas, with Redd Foxx as the judge. This is followed by another skit featuring Cher visited by some ghosts of sailors a la Dickens' A Christmas Carol. Then is a dialogue with Redd Foxx who delivers an inspired Christmasmas wish for all the bigots of the world. Cher tells about prolific song writer Alfred S. Burt and introduces the Lennon Sisters singing one of his songs and then follows by singing another one herself. Redd Foxx solos in a skit as an elf in Santa's workshop after which Cher plays a rude and unresponsive returns clerk in a store. Everybody joins in a skit with songs in a 1920s holiday ballroom setting including Chastity
What happens when religiously conservative Christian parents have children who "become homosexual?" FAMILY FUNDAMENTALS is filmmaker Arthur Dong's personal attempt to answer that explosive question.
