In 1916, Corporal Jean Renaud was forced to spend the Christmas holidays in the trenches, far from his wife and daughter who remained in northern France occupied by the enemy. Saddened, the soldier's wife improvises a surprise reunion between the soldier and his family on Christmas Eve.
