All Star Comedy Carnival was an annual Christmas-special produced by ITV, containing new mini-episodes of popular British sitcoms and light entertainment programmes with some musical interludes. This was broadcast annually on 25 December on ITV, from 1969 to 1973. All Star Comedy Carnvial was a direct competitor to the BBC's Christmas Night with the Stars. All had short five-minute sketches devised and produced for transmission within the festive period, written by the original writers of each comedy series.

The Morecambe & Wise Show (1978–1983) - Christmas with Eric & Ernie 1979 (1979)
Tradition was continued, with Eric's appearance in this 1979 Christmas special, though due to his heart problems early in 1979 it took the form of an interview session with David Frost. Garfield Morgan appeared as 'stunt Eric' in the opening scene, and they were joined by guests. Some classic moments were shown including 'Jungle Book', and a new sketch 'I Taut I Taw a Puddy Tat'. Lots of jokes were made of Eric's ill health.
Three men and a woman called Circe politely call on the country home of Steed's friends, married couple Bill and Laura Bassett. Unfortunately their visit turns sinister as they plan to implant explosives into the throats of the couple and send them off to destroy a nearby peace conference. Happily for the Bassetts - and the conference - Steed is coming to visit for the weekend, and he knows what to do. (They reunite every February to celebrate Christmas)
