For this Christmas-themed show, Danny is joined by actress Jean Simmons, actor Laurence Harvey and singer John Gary. In one sketch Jean and Laurence plot to murder a rich Englishman who proves more difficult to bump off than they planned. Danny plays a shy man trapped by a blizzard at a ski resort who must cuddle with the beautiful Jean Simmons to keep warm.

Margaret Reed, a wealthy and proud woman of Chicago unwillingly finds herself a member of the Donner party - a group of pioneers making their way to California by covered wagon in the summer of 1846. One by one the odds begin to stack against Margaret and her family as precious days slip away and an early winter storm closes the passes through the Sierra Nevada mountain range. Trapped without adequate food and supplies, Margaret struggles to keep her family alive.
Elfrida Phibbs thought she was retiring from her London life to a "geriatric bolthole" in the country. She soon finds herself compassionately tending to her neighbor Oscar, who has suffered a tragic loss. Together, they agree to depart to Scotland for the holidays, in order to avoid Christmas and the painful memories of what they have lost; they will just skip Christmas. But Elfrida has a young relative desperate to get her own teenage niece, Lucy Marchmont, away from ugly family drama in London, and asks to join Elfrida in Scotland. Soon, Christmas of the heart creeps in, and this group of random people finds that a different kind of Christmas might be the best kind.
