Holiday Greetings 1941 (1941)
Lewis Stone urges movie-goers to appreciate those in the US armed forces who will be spending the holidays overseas, away from their families. On behalf of everyone in motion pictures, he wishes them "a very happy, and a free, holiday." // This little greeting from Lewis Stone, speaking for the entire movie industry was obviously intended for release in Christmas week of 1941, say about December 15 to 22. It starts with a view of Stone addressing the theater audience from behind a desk, cuts to stock footage of military maneuvers, probably from the mid-30s, and salutes these guardians of our liberty who will be far from home on Christmas. Given movie distribution schedules, it was probably made during the peaceful Summer or Fall of 1941.Unfortunately, the world, at least as viewed from the United States, changed completely on December 7, 1941! Love Finds Andy Hardy (1938)
Andy has problems raising the last payment for a used car and juggling three pretty girls with an upcoming country club dance scheduled. /// Andy's girlfriend Polly is planning to spend Christmas at her grandmother's, which puts a kink in his plans to take her to the country club Christmas party. He agrees (for a fee) to pretend to be the boyfriend of his buddy Beezy's girl Cynthia to discourage other suitors (Beezy is also leaving for the holidays), but Andy soon finds her too infatuated with him. Meanwhile, Andy's next door neighbor Betsy begins to fall in love with Andy even though she's younger than him. Everything comes to a head at the country club party.

Vanessa, Her Love Story (1935)
The only person that Vanessa wants to marry is Benjamin and they are finally engaged. When a fire sweeps through her father's house, Benjie is able to save Vanessa, but he cannot save her already-dead father. Since Vanessa blames him for her father's death, they separate and Benjie marries Marion, the barmaid. After realizing that she was mistaken, Vanessa finds that he is married and she then reluctantly accepts the proposal of Ellis. However, Ellis is slowly going insane and Vanessa is not told. When her married life becomes intolerable, she tries to leave him, but she cannot divorce him as long as he is insane.
