An all-singing, all-dancing, star-spangled musical leap around the biblical story of the Nativity, set in 1972. With a comic twist, this familiar story is brought to life through the eyes of the innkeeper. Despairing after a bad year, he contemplates suicide but his attempt is stalled by a voice from above who points out that King Herod is coming to town.
When the boiler at the Animal Park on Sodor breaks down on a cold, snowy day, Thomas decides to take the animals to the Steamworks where they will be warm. However, snowdrifts on the line make the journey impossible, so he takes them instead to Tidmouth Sheds, where the engines are forced to spend the night with elephants, giraffes and an ostrich. When Sir Topham Hatt arrives at the shed in the morning, an ostrich steals his hat.
