Marian is the daughter of a wealthy businessman who falls in love with a janitor named Joey. Because of his desire to get the acceptance of Marian's father, Joey wishes on a magical Christmas ornament to provide him with beautiful decorations and delicious food for the special visit of Marian's family. However, fate will test Joey's kindness as other people who are much in need ask for his help. How will Joey learn that having a pure and kind heart is more important than owning all the material things in the world?
Andrea is a Communist insurgent who fights the government in an armed conflict. When it is time for her to give birth, she seeks refuge in the city with her best friend Joyce, whose husband Emil has no sympathy for the likes of Andrea. When Andrea's husband is reportedly killed, she temporarily leaves her son in their care, and the childless couple becomes emotionally attached to him. But before Andrea can return to her baby, she is arrested by the military. With no news of Andrea's whereabouts and believing her dead, the couple decides to keep the boy and take him to the United States. When they return to the country after seven years for a visit, Andrea confronts them and tries to claim his son back.
