Jimmy Tarbuck and friends present an evening of Christmas entertainment, including six specially-written sketches from ITV's most popular comedies: 'Man About the House', 'Billy Liar', 'Sez Les', 'My Good Woman', 'Spring and Autumn' and 'Doctor in Charge'.
It's the night before Christmas, and all toy store rejects are due to be tossed into the furnace. This includes Quincy, a most lifelike doll. In a last ditch effort to save himself and his "unwanted" chums from incineration, Quincy goes on a long and perilous journey in search of the only one who can save them: Santa Claus.
Sketches include a party with somebody who has very bad breath, some advice from a swami, job orientation for British Rail information, Piggy Malone and Charley Farley continue on the case called Band of Slaves, there's some yokels in the pub, Ronnie tells us about a golfer that he heard whilst at the dentist, and the musical finale is base on the cockney pearlies with special guests Chas & Dave. The musical guest is Sheena Easton.
