Ellen has a new boyfriend, named Greg, who is too nice. So Ellen tries to break up with him, but she cannot find the right time before Christmas and ends up at his house singing Christmas carols. Meanwhile, Joe and his new girlfriend, Stephanie, are scaring customers away with their on-again, off-again relationship. Also, Paige agonizes over what gift to get for her long-estranged, overly sensitive mother for Christmas.

George gets a job at Elaine's office and gets involved with the cleaning woman. Elaine's boyfriend is a recovering alcoholic who falls off the wagon because of Jerry's carelessness. George buys Elaine a marked-down cashmere sweater.
George has decided he's made a terrible mistake in breaking up with Susan. He moans and groans and is generally driving everybody crazy. Against everyone's advice he decides to tell her he made a mistake . No sooner are they back together than he decides he's the one who made the mistake. Elaine decides to put her picture on her Christmas cards and Kramer agrees to be the photographer. Only problem is that she exposes just a little too much of herself. Jerry meanwhile is dating the model he recently met on a flight and things seem to be going nicely....until she sees him picking his nose, or so she thinks at any rate.
Dave thinks it's time to hire Bill's replacement. When the staff resists, he considers going with a longtime friend of Bill's, Max Louis. As it turns out, Max is a horrible radio personality and gets fired from every job he has. Joe needs to fix all the computers in preparation for Y2K. Electronics around the office randomly explode.
